Sant Vinoba Bhave College of Agriculture and Research Station, Marra (Patan) was established on 4th July 2019 as a constituent college of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.). The college is situated in rural area at Village-Marra, Tehsil-Patan in district- Durg, Chhattisgarh. It is 30 km away from Durg Railway Station and 45 km far from IGKV, Raipur main campus and capital of Chhattisgarh. College has been working with full dedication to study and advancement of agricultural sciences with the quality, Education, Research and Extension work. To achieve the goal college equipped with SMART classes, Tissue Culture Laboratory, Hi-Tech Nursery, Modern Laboratories and Experimental Farms that provide students with hands-on experience and practical training etc.. The Library is facilitated with good numbers of books periodicals, e-books and many more e-resources with complete automated with Koha ILMS. Remote access of e-resources in CeRA and member of National Digital Library. The students overall developments is the main motive, so the Sports, NSS, Career Guidance, Cultural activities and experimental learning programmes regularly conducted as per Academic Calendars. The faculty at this college comprises renowned experts and researchers in the field of agriculture, who are committed to providing high-quality education and conducting cutting-edge research. Sant Vinoba Bhave College of Agriculture and Research Station (SVB CARS) is situated at Village – Marra, Block – Patan, Distt. – Durg (C.G.). It is almost equidistance from two important cities of Chhattisgarh namely Raipur (40kms) and Durg (35kms). Dr. Ajay Verma is a founder dean of this college and has successively led the institution. The campus provides congenial environment for studies. SVBCARS, Marra follows a holistic approach for the development of the agriculture by integrating teaching, research and extension activities and assumes specific responsibility for improvement of rural life in totality. Admission to undergraduate programme is carried out though Pre Agriculture Test (PAT) conducted by “CGVYAPAM” of the State Government. The total intake capacity for the UG programme is 59. The objective is to forge ahead in teaching, research and extension services in agriculture and allied field. The centre intends to strengthen contemporary knowledge of agricultural science and develop strong and efficient manpower that would cater the needs of rural areas.
