After the formation of Chhattisgarh as State, Sant Vinoba Bhave College of Agriculture and Research Station, Marra (Patan) was established in the 04th July, 2019 at Village: Marra, Tehsil: Patan, District: Durg (C.G.) as a 21st constituent college of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. SVB CARS, Marra (Patan) is one of the most comprehensive Agriculture colleges of the state over the past few years which is dedicated for quality education, research and technological dissemination in the field of agriculture. Right from beginning the college has been working hard to fulfill the expectations of the visionaries of the state to transform the agricultural scenario in the State. It is complimented by Hon,ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Girish Chandel that the college has achieved land mark of development in very short period of time of four and half years, he announced that college ranked under five among all 39 colleges of University during its first annual function on 24 January,2024, which is great honors for the college. I express my sincere gratitude towards former Deans and all the associated officials for land mark development of the college right from its establishment. At the same time the hard work of farmers and unstinted support of ICAR, IGKV, Raipur and State Government is greatly valued. The priorities and responsibilities of SVB CARS, Marra (Patan) is assessed and renewed continuously such that the role and contributions of the premiere agriculture college in bringing agricultural transformation in the state continue unabated. I am confident that this institution will continue to do so in the years to come with dedicated efforts of the faculty members, technical-staff, administrative staff of college and guidance and support of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur.
